Oil Filters or lube filters are a key element in any compressor… obviously. They work to filter any contaminant out of the oil before it reaches its final destination of lubricating the moving parts and entering into the sump on screw compressors. There are different types of oil filters, but they all act to accomplish the same goal. The process is by no means rocket science, but creating a high quality oil filter with paper or synthetic media is extremely important. All our Oil filters are quality tested and manufactured under the strictest of conditions.
Generally, Air Compressor Oil filters are rated from 10-20 microns which is sufficient to filter out contaminants from the lubricating oil that could cause harm to the compressor.
The Sullair 001158 oil filter replacement, like any oil filter, must be changed according to manufacturer specifications as the filtration media will break down, clog, etc. By changing your oil filter regularly (generally with every oil change service or more) you will help to maintain the life of your compressor and help to reduce the likelihood of failure resulting from a contaminated lubrication system.
