Silica Gel Desiccant

is a granular form of Silica. It is widespread in application and its uses are many. In products throughout the world, Silica Gel is used to hinder or absorb moisture from the air and it does a great job of it. One major use internationally is to absorb moisture that could cause rot or mildew in the packaging product. For this reason a primary use of silica gel is in desiccant applications. When Condensation is unwanted Silca Gel Desiccant will remove it. Relative Humidity can be a dangerous situation for certain radio or satellite transmission systems. Silica Gel Beads are often utilized to avoid this excessive moisture inside of the waveguide itself. This also is true for nearly any compressed air system be it an air dryer or a small aquarium setup.

As air leaving the compressor is hot it contains large amounts of moisture. The most common way to remove this moisture is to run the compressed air first through an Air Dryer that then allows the air to feed out to the plant or usage facility. Desiccant Air Dryers are filled with desiccant beads that the heated compressed air filled with moisture is passed through. Upon leaving the desiccant dryer the air temp is less and the humidity level is close to 0.
