POSI-DRAIN is designed to effectively drain water, oil, sludge, and scale from Filters, Air Receivers, Air Dryers, Separators, Aftercoolers, and other compressed air equipment where undesirable liquids may accumulate. The POSIDRAIN is an excellent replacement for float and other types of solenoid drains which have a tendency to fail when sludge or scale accumulate.

Floating Seal Design
The POSI VALVE makes use of the floating seal principle which has proven to be the most reliable way of draining compressed air systems of the unwanted accumulations of water, oil, sludge, and scale.
How It Works
As shown in Fig. 1, the valve uses differential pressure to press the floating seal against the downstream valve seat. Due to the close contact between the seal disc and valve seat, a lapping action occurs between them each time the valve's plunger moves up and down (cycles). This action maintains the flatness of both faces and actually improves the seal itself. Wear to these parts is minimal, even after millions of cycles.
Self-Cleaning Action
The self-cleaning action provides reliable service in contaminated systems like compressed air lines. Each time the plunger moves up and down, the face of the valve seat is wiped clean by the seal disc. This makes the valve extremely dependable and desirable for use under adverse conditions because contaminates likes those found in air systems are kept from being trapped in the seat.
Straight Through Flow
When the solenoid is energized, the plunger and seal are lifted so that the flow of the condensation can flow straight through the orifice (see Fig. 2). It is the combination of the straight through flow and the self-cleaning action of the seal that prevents the valve from clogging. Other types of solenoid valves force contamination like scale to travel in a dirt catching "S" shaped flow.
Versatility
The POSI-DRAIN is available as a complete drain (PD7020) or each component, Timer Controller (PD7000) and POSI Valve (PV1), can be purchased separately. When bought separately, the Timer Controller can be mounted remote from the POSI VALVE. The Timer Controller can actuate up to four POSI VALVES at once. The NEMA 4X design can be maintained even in the remote configuration.
Unbeatable Combination
POSI VALVE combined with our proven and versatile NEMA 4X timer controller is the POSI-DRAIN, an extremely dependable and fully adjustable timer drain for compressed air lines. POSI-DRAIN performs in the tough applications where others
